Workplan implementation completed
REACT4C has successfully completed its implementation in April 2014. Final project meeting took place
in 11-12 November 2013. A stakeholder seminar was organised on 20 November 2013 in Berlin, presenting
achievements and discussing on implementation of results.
A series of publications on scientific results is available.
Successful Kick-Off Meeting in Munich
On 3-4 Feb 2010 the successful Kick-Off Meeting took place in Erding,
near Munich. Main objective of REACT4C is to (1) explore feasibility of
adopting flight altitudes and flight routes that lead to reduced fuel
consumption and emissions, and lessen the environmental impact; and (2)
to estimate the overall global effect of such ATM measures in terms of
climate change. All project partners participated in the event and
provided condensed overview on planned work. Particular focus was given
on interfaces between atmospheric scientists, air traffic management
experts and flight controllers. At the end of the meeting it was
decided to host the Green Aircraft workshop in Spring 2010 in Toulouse,
in order to discuss current knowledge on environmental flight planning.
REACT4C presented during IP QUANTIFY final Meeting
On 27 January 2010 an overview presentation on REACT4C was given by
Sigrun Matthes (DLR)
during the final meeting of IP QUANTIFY. The talk was well received by
an interested international audience. Particular interest laid on current
state-of-the art on environmental flight planning and early sensitivity
studies performed. The optimisation approach was emphasized as
underlying principle in the presentation. Whole presentation was made
availabe under the project web site of QUANTIFY
(and in the download section of this web site).
